Memoriessssssss memoriessssssss of long ago.....reminding me of Chanukah (CH sp elling, like the hebrew letter) candles aglow. While frying the latkes, they shine bright each night as our stories are told of the oil lasting eight night s instead of one. Holding the the "sham mus candle" in my hand.......Barukh ata h Adonai, Eloheinu, melekh ha'olam, she 'asah nisim la'avoteinu bayamim haheim baziman hazeh. (Amein) :)

When my grandmother-may she rest in peac e-used to have Chanukah parites when i was younger..they would gather around t he piano as she played and they sang a little more humorous version Chanukah O h Chanukah...where instead of singing " the candles are burning bright" would s ubsitiute it for the candles are burnin g low..you may not guess but it was the latkes..that told us of days long ago" :) and they would chuckle as they sung it.
