How to Write a Thank You Card

No, a Post-It will not do.

If someone gives you a holiday gift, they don't necessarily require a card. For example, if you and a friend exchange gifts in person, you're cool. If you spend twenty minutes on the phone with whomever got you the gift, you're off the hook. Or, on the hook, rather. But you don't have to send a card.

Otherwise, you may have to send a thank you card. This goes especially for bosses and coworkers, anyone who threw a party, and anyone who sent you a gift by mail (with whom you don't want to talk on the phone).

Here are the rules for getting your holiday thank you cards done quickly, easily, and classily:

Holi and Dash don't have any kids (that they know of) but they give great baby shower gifts. They included some of their favorites for babies in today's prize from Rug Rat Corner: a combo prize pack that would make a great gift for a new mom or dad.

I Buy My Mom a Black Turtleneck Every Year

Am I the only one that gets people the same gift every year? I mean, sometimes I'm able to "resist" because I remember that I've already gave my sister these perfect Joy O pointy hoops twice already. But sometimes (see the previous two times) I wind up making the repeat purchase.

In my own defense, when you find something perfect for someone, it's still going to be perfect in ten or twelve months when you see it again.

My mom and I actually have a solution worked out. She expects to get a black turtleneck from me, and I have the guaranteed satisfaction of gift well chosen every time I wrap a cozy cashmere sweater for her. And in return, she always gets me a black cardigan.

Santa's Snow Bunny Helper

A fur-lined hood helps Santa's helper stay warm -- which is good, because the rest of this outfit isn't doing much to protect her from the elements!

This outfit has so much to recommend it. Stretch velvet! Fur trim! That hood! Not to mention the laces, which would be terrific for someone who needs to practice his or her basic shoe/bra-tying skills.

Also, it's excellent to note that the bunny fur is fake. Perish the thought of a Snow Bunny Helper wearing the bloody remains of actual bunnies!

But before you dirty minds are envisioning a threesome with the buxom blonde and whoever this 'Stella' chick is, let me point out that she's actually asking for clothes from Stella McCartney, a fashion designer -- and obviously one of Pam's faves.

The 41-year-old mom of three says, "All I want for Christmas is Stella McCartney. You feel very alive wearing her clothes and knowing nothing has been killed."
